4. What types of venues for events and weddings do you offer?
At DIDEA we offer only private, off-resort venues and locations in Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic.
These include private beaches, villas, amazing oceanfront platforms, rooftops, restaurants and even boats for celebrations.
All of our venues are suitable for all sorts of private, corporate and social events.
5. Do you work with resorts?
Yes and no.
We work with resorts in Punta Cana assisting them with their regular entertainment programs. We are also preferred vendors at some resorts where we provide musicians, dance shows and equipment rentals for special events and weddings.
But as planners at DIDEA we have strongly decided to work with private off-resort venues only because: * we want for our clients to enjoy absolute privacy on their event. * we want our clients to have the freedom to choose all services and vendors without any extra charge or inconvenience.
Unfortunately resorts are not as flexible with this.
6. How do i decide which venue is right for me?
The first thing you need to figure out before looking for a venue is:
– the number of guests you plan on inviting – your estimated budget
Depending on your budget, number of guests and more importantly – the idea that you have, we can definitely help you decide which venue in Punta Cana and the DR is right for you.
7. How much does it cost to get married in the Dominican Republic?
This is one of the most common questions about the Dominican Republic.
The cost of your destination wedding will strongly depend on the location and venue, number of guests attending and the services you choose to include in your package.
The Dominican Republic is one of the most affordable destinations for weddings, but it all comes down to your preferences.
As planners at DIDEA we have worked on many budget-friendly weddings but also on many high-end luxury ones. We always try to work within the budget you provide us and create the best possible experience for you.

9. What are the legal requirements for getting married in the Dominican Republic?
This is one of the most frequently asked questions about the Dominican Republic.
The civil wedding is officiated in Spanish by a Dominican judge provided by the Government. You must be in the country at least 3 business days before getting married.
Below is a list of documents necessary for a civil/legal wedding in the Dominican Republic.
All documents must be translated in Spanish and legalized by the Dominican Consulate in your country prior to arriving in the Dominican Republic, except for the Passports. The documents should be legalized by the Dominican Consulate no more than 3 months prior to the wedding date. It is the couple’s responsibility to have all the documentation ready prior the wedding.
Valid passport and a copy of passport of Bride and Groom.
Original Birth Certificate of Bride and Groom.
Notarized Single Status Affidavit for Bride and Groom.
If you have been previously married, a copy of legalized/sealed Divorce Act or Death Certificate. *there is a mandatory 10 months waiting period for women, after divorce to be able re-marry.
Passport photocopies of the witnesses.
Your marriage certificate will be sent to you in Spanish, you will then need to have it translated and legalized into English.
No paperwork is required for a symbolic wedding. You can bring your own officiant or minister or hire one locally.
10. Do you take care of accommodation for groups?
Yes, especially for the area of Punta Cana.
There are many private villas, apartments and boutique hotels we work with that offer accommodation for our groups.
This type of accommodation has an advantage over all-inclusive hotels because it gives you freedom to explore the Dominican Republic up close and tailor your activities to your own personal agenda.
We also organize tours, excursions, fun activities and trips for your group such as: fishing, snorkeling, sailing, diving, horseback riding, catamaran party boats, trips to Santo Domingo, Isla Saona and other parts of the DR.
11. Do you work with same-sex couples?
We do. Love is love and we’d love to be considered for planning your special day anywhere in the Dominican Republic.
12. Can you plan my birthday party in Punta Cana?
Absolutely! Having planned and coordinated all sorts of private events in Punta Cana and the DR, we would love to!
13. Do you plan incentives, corporate events or meetings in the Dominican Republic?
Of course. Our DIDEA team will assist you as soon as you contact us.
14. What types of live music options and dance shows do you offer?
Literally any option that fits the vibe of your event.
Our talent includes solo musicians (guitar, violin, piano, saxophone players and singers), duets, trios, bands as well as DJs.
Our musicians are experienced in many music styles – from classical music through pop, rock, retro, latin music, flamenco, salsa, bachata and merengue. We also offer dance shows: “hora loca” crazy hour, fire show, flamenco show, circus show, LED show..
We can recommend the best option so you can have the best time in Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic.
15. Can i hire you to provide live music or a dance show even though i planned my event/wedding with another company?
Yes, we are all for it!
In fact, many local and international planners and companies collaborate with us for our talent services, event equipment party rentals and dance shows.
We have done some amazing work together.
But it all comes down to the venue you have booked. This applies even more if your event/wedding is at a resort – we advise asking them if they will charge you an outsider vendor fee for our services.
16. What type of event equipment do you rent?
Being one of the few companies in Punta Cana that rent professional sound, lighting and DJ equipment for events, we also rent marquee tents and covers, chairs, tables, lounge furniture, dance floors and decoration items.

If you want to learn some basic steps while in Punta Cana or you have experience dancing and want to improve or learn new moves – we got you!
Samba, rumba, cha cha, bachata, salsa, merengue, hip hop or zumba – it’s up to you to choose the dance style you want to do on the classes.
For the moment, we offer only private lessons for individuals, couples and groups.
